Many of our clients have multiple stakeholders—such as landlords, contractors, or product suppliers—who may also require office project photography, affecting how the shoot is structured. In some cases, different companies may want to bring in their own office photographers for separate shoots at the same site, but this is often restricted by the property owner. Such conflicts can put additional strain on relationships between stakeholders and the end client. To avoid these challenges, the design-build company typically takes the lead in organising a unified shoot that accommodates everyone’s needs.
To support our business partners in this situation, we created a structure for collaborative shoots. We take on the responsibility of managing the shoot, liaising with all stakeholders, and ensuring that each client’s specific requirements are met. Rather than conducting separate photoshoots, multiple parties may do a collaborative office shoot and share the costs.
A collaborative office shoot offers several key benefits:
1. Cost Efficiency
Rather than hiring their own photographer and arranging separate shoots, costs can be shared among multiple parties. This reduces the financial burden on each company while ensuring professional photography.
2. Streamlined Coordination
Instead of different companies arranging separate photoshoots—potentially disrupting the space multiple times—a collaborative session ensures everything is captured in one well-organised shoot.
3. Compliance with Site Restrictions
Many office owners or property managers prohibit multiple photoshoots by different photographers. A collaborative shoot helps all parties comply with these restrictions, avoiding potential conflicts or denied access.
4. Consistency in Visuals
When multiple photographers work on the same space independently, there may be inconsistencies in style, lighting, and composition. A single, well-planned shoot ensures a cohesive visual narrative that accurately represents the project.
5. Reduced Workload for the Primary Client
The design-build firm or primary stakeholder usually takes on the responsibility of organizing the shoot. Let us do it!
6. Fair Representation of All Stakeholders
A well-planned collaborative shoot ensures that each stakeholder’s needs are met, with a balanced selection of images showcasing their contributions to the project. This avoids potential disputes over image selection and usage rights.
7. Avoiding Relationship Strain
When multiple companies attempt to organise their own independent shoots, tensions can arise between stakeholders and the end client.
Here is an example of a collaborative shoot we completed for an architectural client and a fit-out client. Each provided their own brief and selected their final set of images, showcasing how the same office space can be photographed with different intentions and strategies.
