How to Capture Story, Scale, and Brand
Photographing a major corporate headquarters demands sensitivity, precision, and a deep understanding of how design, culture, and purpose come together. Stepping into Sumitomo Corporation Europe’s newly revitalised HQ at Vintners Place immediately revealed just how much this project embodies those qualities. The space feels intentional from the first moment, expressing a legacy brand through a contemporary workplace lens. It’s a reminder that large scale office projects photography is never just about documenting architecture; it’s about revealing identity.

In environments of this scale, the instinct can be to record everything: every corner, every workstation, every meeting room. But size alone doesn’t tell the story. What matters most is selecting the moments that communicate meaning, atmosphere, and the client’s vision for how people work and connect inside a 45,000 sq ft environment.
The newly revitalised 4th floor, that is the the jewel of the scheme, gave us an incredible foundation to work with. The DMG Workplace team delivered a space that blends elegance, functionality, and sustainability. Their in-house technical expertise and deep understanding of Sumitomo’s brief shaped a workplace that is free-flowing, collaborative, and rich in material refinement. Every detail reflects intention, and that meant our photography needed to do the same.

For large scale office projects, capturing this type of transformation means identifying the key zones that express the project’s soul. The arrival sequence establishes a calm and deliberate tone through crafted finishes and controlled lighting. Executive and client facing areas showcase Sumitomo’s timeless professionalism. Collaboration zones demonstrate flexibility and openness. Circulation paths become powerful storytelling elements, revealing how movement happens through space. And the feature-rich architectural moments, like textures, lighting or bespoke joinery, communicate craftsmanship and strategic design thinking.
Every photograph serves a purpose, not just a visual record. Each frame highlights how DMG interpreted the brief with precision, how the design supports modern ways of working, and how Sumitomo’s heritage is translated into a contemporary workplace.

Individually, these images show beauty and detail. Together, they communicate the essence of the project, the clarity of the concept, the executional excellence, and the atmosphere that defines the finished environment. That is the value of photographing large workplaces with intention: it turns scale into story and design into brand expression.
